Fall Feels

I’m back!

God it feels good.

What can I say? Life gets in the way. And it has been a real juggle lately.

Work has been tough. More tough and more pressure than usual, leaving me feeling drained and exhausted at the end of each day. I can’t say I don’t like what I do.. but I can say it does not leave much room for other things. Physically or mentally.

Mentally I have struggled with anxiety, and I think as time goes on, and I inevitably age, it has gotten worse. The funny thing is, is that this is what brings me solace and peace. This is what I am passionate about. Writing and sharing, cooking and baking.. this is how I self-medicate.

It is easy to get discouraged when your mind can be your worst enemy, but I am here and I am SO ready to share the best stuff yet with you!

First things first: I turned 25 in September. Wait… what?

The big 2 - 5. Quarter of a century. Closer to my 30’s than to my 20’s... It was scary, it was exhausting, it was a blast. We celebrated by road-tripping to my most favorite place on this Earth: the ocean. We cheered to an incredible 24 years, greeted my 25th year with my toes in the Gulf, fresh seafood, endless amounts of cake, and plenty of wine to boot. Does it get better than that? I think not.

But MOST exciting thing that has happened yet?? FALL! Fall is here, October is here! Quite possibly the most beautiful, magical, sweetest month of the year. Not only because of the leaves and the season, not only because of the football and the crisp air, not only the sweater weather and the bon-fires… but the anticipation it brings. Fall brings an anticipation and excitement for the holidays like nothing else – it gives me warm fuzzies like a child on Christmas Eve. I wait for this all year long.

My most favorite part of fall and winter? The food. Comfort food. The warm soup bubbling on the stove. The smell of fresh baked pumpkin bread or chocolate-chip cookies in the oven. The pot roast slow cooking all day. The hot chocolate that warms your soul.

This, this is what I live for. And I am so excited to be back just in time to share it with you!

Happy October!
